People are always asking, if our training is a micro-expression training. Well: yes and no. As you all know, micro-expressions are normal emotional expressions expressed in a split of a second. Our training focuses on the question, how these emotional facial expressions are processed in the brain of the observer. As the "Cross-Race-Effect" explains, we cannot process negative emotions of persons of other cultures as good as emotions of persons of our own surrounding. Since a lot of people have no direct contact with people from China, their general ability to recognize anger, fear etc. is lowered. And for that reason also their ability to detect micro-expressions. I would say - but this is just a personal opinion - that the detection of micro-expressions is exponentially harder due to the cross-race-effect.
